SITUATION
The Bradley Foundation had grown significantly in size and scope since its founding and was undergoing a leadership transition. The Foundation did not have a comprehensive strategy in place to guide its giving and needed a full review of its priorities.
RESULT
Bradley Foundation board, leaders, and staff were aligned on priorities and well-equipped to advance the Foundation's mission through improved focus and effectiveness in their grantmaking
1. Conduct organizational audit
AmPhil interviewed Bradley staff, directors, peers, and thought leaders and reviewed historical information to assess organizational strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
2. Craft guiding statements
AmPhil helped the Foundation refine its vision and mission statements and articulate core guiding principles that inform its grantmaking and operational priorities
3. Create an internal strategic plan
After planning meetings with directors and staff, AmPhil produced a plan that laid out Bradley's organizational objectives and steps necessary to pursue them
4. Create a public strategic plan
AmPhil delivered a professionally designed version of the plan suitable for public use to communicate Bradley's vision to its grantees and other stakeholders
